Raytheon Technologies, Tucson, Arizona, is awarded a $19,595,000 cost-plus-incentive-fee modification (P00016) to a previously awarded contract (N0001919C0079). This modification adds scope to integrate, produce, qualify, test and field Maritime Strike Tomahawk seeker suites and all subsystems required to provide midcourse and terminal guidance to a modernized tactical Tomahawk missile for prosecution of maritime targets from surface and subsurface platforms. The procured quantity of seeker suites will be installed in recertified Tomahawk missiles for the Navy. Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona (42%); Boulder, Colorado (21.62%); Dallas, Texas (16.57%); North Logan, Utah (9.24%); Pontiac, Michigan (5.56%); and various locations within the continental U.S. (5.01%), and is expected to be completed in October 2024. Fiscal 2021 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $19,595,000 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Description
Raytheon Company, Tucson, Arizona, was awarded a $358,028,032 firm- fixed-price contract in support of the FY21-23 Evolved SEASPARROW Missile (ESSM) Block 2 full rate production requirements on 29 Septemeber 2021. The ESSM program is an international cooperative effort to design, develop, test, and procure ESSM missiles. The ESSM provides enhanced ship defense. This contract includes options which, if exercised at the maximum quantities, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $1,278,097,632. Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona (46%), Edinburgh, Australia (8%), San Jose, California (7%), Raufoss, Norway (7%), Mississauga, Canada (6%), Ottobrunn, Germany (4%), Cambridge, Canada (3%), Nashua, New Hampshire (3%), Hengelo Ov, Netherlands (2%), Koropi Attica, Greece (2%), Torrance, California (2%), Canton, New York (2%), Ankara, Turkey (1%), Grenaa, Denmark (1%), Westlake Village, California (1%), Eight Mile Plains Brisbane, Australia, Newmarket, Canada, Madrid, Spain, Milwaukie, Oregon, Lystrup, Denmark, Lawrence, Maine, and Clearwater, Florida are less than 1% each and make up the remaining 5%. Work is expected to be completed by March 2025. If all options are exercised, work will continue through March 2027. [Lepanto]

La nueva versión del misil antibuque Marte, diseñado para uso naval, aéreo y costero, desarrollado por MBDA Italia, completó su campaña de prueba a finales de noviembre con un disparo final realizado en Cerdeña. Fue lanzado desde una plataforma costera.

En comparación con la primera prueba, que data de finales de 2018, se probaron varias características y funcionalidades adicionales: un sistema de navegación integrado, una espoleta de sobrevuelo de proximidad con controlador de armas y un sistema de activación de configuración avanzada.

El misil también contó con una guía terminal con un nuevo buscador. El objetivo flotante fue alcanzado tras un vuelo de aproximadamente 100 kilómetros. El misil llevó su trayectoria al límite con varias maniobras importantes, incluida una fase de vuelo muy baja sobre el mar a muy alta velocidad.

El Marte ER tiene la misma interfaz y soporte logístico que el Marte MK2/S por lo que no se requieren cambios en el hardware de las plataformas ya calificados para la familia Marte, como los helicópteros NH90 y AW101.

Filipinas se convirtió en el primer cliente extranjero del misil de crucero BrahMos al emitir un "aviso de adjudicación" al fabricante de misiles BrahMos Aerospace Ltd. El BrahMos (designado PJ-10) es un misil de crucero supersónico estatorreactor de alcance medio que se puede lanzar desde submarinos, barcos, aviones o tierra. Se basa en el misil de crucero ruso P-800 Oniks y otra tecnología similar de misiles de crucero rusos roza olas.

El misil Brahmos tiene un alcance de vuelo de hasta 290 km con velocidad supersónica durante todo el vuelo y su altitud de crucero podría ser de hasta 15 km y su altitud terminal es de 10 metros. El misil lleva una ojiva convencional que pesa entre 200 y 300 kg.

Japón actualizará los misiles antibuque Tipo 12 para una mayor eficiencia y protección. Este misil Tipo 12 es un misil antibuque montado en un camión desarrollado por Mitsubishi Heavy Industries en 2012. Es una actualización del misil Tipo 88. El Tipo 12 cuenta con INS con guía GPS de mitad de recorrido y una mejor precisión debido a las capacidades mejoradas de conciencia de contornos del terreno y discriminación de objetivos. El arma está conectada en red, donde otras plataformas pueden proporcionar objetivos iniciales e intermedios, y también cuenta con tiempos de recarga más cortos, costos de ciclo de vida reducidos y un alcance de 124 mn (200 km). El misil comparte el mismo buscador de radar Active Electronic Scanned Array (AESA) de banda Ka con el misil japonés BVRAAM, AAM-4B.

El derivado lanzado desde un barco del Tipo 12, designado como misil Tipo 17 (SSM-2) se ha puesto en servicio y comenzará a desplegarse desde un destructor de clase Maya. El alcance se ha duplicado a 400 kilómetros y también se planea para la variante lanzada desde el aire por los P-1. El misil se desliza aproximadamente a 20 pies (6 metros) sobre el mar, activado por un buscador de escaneado digital de alta resolución que proveniente del misil aire-aire AA-4B, que puede identificar si el barco es un objetivo adecuado y en consecuencia eliminarlo.
