The job position is in the scope of the Eurofighter’s PSTS (Pilot Synthetic Training System), which will train the pilots of one of the world’s most advanced fighter jets. This new simulator will include latest improvements that have been enhancing the capabilities of one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world.
The PSTS Joint Team (JT) is an integrated effort of partners fostering deep collaboration on engineering elements in the scope of Eurofighter Simulation project. The team is located in Manching (Germany) so the candidate shall reside there, with a Spanish contract. The integration activities contribute to ensure the delivery of an integrated, functional and stable PSTS system.
Role:
· To integrate PSTS subsystems applicable to EF avionics Subsystems, specifically the MIDS ( Multifunction Information Distribution System ), ACS (Armament Control Subsystem), COMMS (Communication), GLU (Ground Loading Unit), FRC (Front Computer), EPGS (Electrical Power Generation Subsystem ), WFM (WSS File Manager) , into the system and test of resulting end-to end functions.
· To support the problem investigation related to the above Subsystems on the devices in support of internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
· Establish the maturity of the delivered subsystem to determine if the subsystem can be committed for integration into the system (Accept / reject Delivery recommendation).
· Perform integration of sub-system functions into the system and testing of resulting end-to end functions.
· Report system problems identified during the course of integration and test.
· Report the result of system integration testing and identify when formally testing can begin.
· Modify the Simulation SW code (minor changes) when necessary and inform the relevant PSTS Partner of these changes (configuration control between PSTS Partners configured SW and PSTS CIF configured).
· Perform re-testing of functionality following provision of SW Fixes.
· Investigate observations and queries raised by internal or external customers and where confirmed, document the system problem.
· Perform testing of PSTS SW baselines to certify the maturity and stability of the system.
· Identify the integration task to be performed including an estimate of their effort and duration.
· Report progress and spend against planned integration tasks.
· Highlight areas where PSTS Partner support for tasks is required.
· Support engineering and formal test activities, including acceptance with the customer.
· Support rectification of system problems on Customer Integration Facilities devices.
· Actively support System Engineering Team in the definition of User Stories, Physical architecture or any other design review process.
