Y lo mismo se aplica a prácticamente cualquier avión militar. Nadie nace totalmente de cero sin contar con la experiencia previa, sin contar con algún demostrador, aunque sea a escala y en túnel de viento, que pruebe algunos conceptos. Pero eso no quita que luego el prototipo de un programa es otra cosa distinta, sobretodo desarrollado para ser un sistemas de armas completo bajo requisitos militares, no de investigación.
Algunos olvidan la diferencia entre demostrador tecnológico y prototipo de desarrollo.

Hensoldt awarded ‘Quadriga’ Radar 1 contract for Luftwaffe Eurofighter aircraft. Radar 1 = Radar 0 + new digital multichannel receiver. @JanesINTEL story to come, meanwhile some more radar info below.
Eurofighter already developing an E-Scan AESA through Euroradar. Led by Leonardo UK, this builds on existing Captor-M mechanically scanned radar, and is known as Captor-E and/or Captor AESA radar (CAESAR). The baseline AESA radar is referred to as Radar Mk 0 (also Radar 0) and is the system slated for Kuwait and Qatar, as well as initially also for Luftwaffe Tranche 2 and 3 Eurofighters.
Airbus, through its subcontractor Hensoldt and its partner Indra, will transform Radar 0 into Radar 1. Given Indra’s involvement in Radar 1, Spain’s additional Eurofighters that will be procured under that country’s Project ‘Halcon’ will likely be fitted with this system as well.
UK is going down its own road with Radar 2 (likely also equip Italian aircraft). Reported to have unspecified electronic attack capabilities. Airbus has proposed Radar 2 for its ECR Eurofighter being pitched to Germany, and radar also been offered to Finland.
