3.0 Description of Requirements
The Air Force is seeking information addressing the following elements:

1. Identify how you could provide the Government wit h at least two (2) manned aircraft and associated ground systems within five (5) years that would provide the capabilities of the E-3G listed above. Describe in detail the capabilities your platform would provide in each of the following areas and include Technology Readiness Level (TRL):

a. Advanced AMTI radar (as described in paragraph 4 below)
b. IFF capabilities (transmit, receive, interrogate)
c. Electronic support measures
d. BMC2 mission system with integrated on and off board communications
e. Ability to conduct at least six (6) BMC2 missions simultaneously
i. Missions include Offensive Counter Air (OCA), Defensive Counter Air (DCA), Air Traffic Control (ATC), Close Air Support (CAS), Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD), Air Refueling (AR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), etc.
f. Ability to conduct radar-based maritime surveillance missions
g. An integrated self-defense suite
h. Built-in full mission awareness in the cockpit
i. Boom/receptacle air-to-air refueling capability
j. M-Code Global Positioning System
k. Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) communications
l. Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver
m. Second Generation Anti-Jam Tactical Ultra-High Frequency Radio for NATO (SATURN)
n. Link-16 Crypto Modernization and Frequency Remapping
o. Crew rest capability
p. Systems Integration Lab (SIL)
q. Pre- and post-mission ground support systems
r. Aircrew and maintenance training systems

4. Describe your radar design that maintains a 360-degree (azimuth) surveillance picture and is able to perform airborne and maritime surveillance and tracking with variable revisit rates and variable track updates.

a. Describe your ability to maintain this picture while providing electronic steering to isolate targets of interest.
b. Describe how your platform provides an advanced AMTI radar subsystem onboard sensor and performs real-time data processing of radar targets.
c. Describe your radar performance and capabilities at the classified level addressing the maximum detection range, target size used for that range, and the smallest observable target co-altitude at the radar horizon. Include atmospheric and weather conditions used in your assessment.

This contract provides for engineering services and support for recurring and non-recurring requirements relating to the E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System. Work will be performed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 9, 2028. This contract involves 40 percent Foreign Military Sales to NATO, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, and France, and is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $455,782 are being obligated at the time of award. Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expected to completed by Feb. 11, 2032. This contract is 35 percent Foreign Military Sales to NATO. This award is the result of a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $838,118 are being obligated at the time of award. E-3 insufficient for timely detection of J-20: Pacific Air Forces chief

USAF General Kenneth Wilsbach says that the Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS fleet is suffering significant obsolescence issues, and that the Boeing F-15EX is ideally suited to conflict in North Asia.
Wilsbach, the Pacific Air Force’s (PACAF’s) commander, says that he has been advocate of the Boeing 737-based E-7 airborne early warning and control aircraft for some time.

“Our E-3 fleet really struggles from a maintenance reliability standpoint, we have four of them in PACAF and often times all four of them are not able to fly because of maintenance issues.”
“When it gets airborne, those sensors that we rely on with the E-3 aren’t really capable in the 21st century fight, especially against a platform like the [Chengdu] J-20 or something similar to that. It just can’t see those platforms far enough out to be able to provide an advantage to the shooters.”

As for the E-7, which is operated by regional US allies Australia and South Korea, Wilsbach says it is both more capable and reliable. The USAF is considering a potential E-7 acquisition.

Pillar los pillan pero no a una distancia para que corra un agradable aire entre ambos. Y en los tiempos que corren y con las lanzas que gastan ya los chinos, la distancia "agradable" es muchísima.

Pillar los pillan pero no a una distancia para que corra un agradable aire entre ambos. Y en los tiempos que corren y con las lanzas que gastan ya los chinos, la distancia "agradable" es muchísima.

Yo lo que me pregunto es, si a USA, que posee la mejor tecnología radar del planeta, le cuesta detectar a una distancia prudencial un avión furtivo de un país que está empezando a dominar esa tecnología, a qué distancia puede detectar un radar chino o ruso un F22 o un F35?
A suficiente distancia para no comerse un misilazo antes de que sea demasiado tarde?
