A la izquierda el NSM del que deriva el JSM que irá integrado dentro del F-35A/C, en el centro el mismo pero adaptado para ser usado desde celdas en destructores. La US NAvy está mirando para adaptar sus celdas MK41 para el uso de esta variante antibuque. Sería interesante para nuestra Armada el contar con un misil furtivo de crucero para el uso desde las fragatas pues disponemos de las mismas celdas. También trabajan en una versión para submarinos, sustituirían a los Harpoon, algo que también se debería mirar para nuestros S-80.

UK Storm Shadow SPEAR Cap 4 MLR nears completion

MBDA is expected to complete the final elements of the Storm Shadow SPEAR Capability 4 (Selective Precision Effects At Range Capability 4) missile regeneration later this year.

SPEAR Capability 4 is the Mid-Life Refurbishment (MLR) project for the UK's Storm Shadow stockpile (SCALP EG in France)... Refurbishment of the missile is being executed under the provisions of a joint contract placed on MBDA by the UK and French ministries of defence for MLR of their respective Storm Shadow/SCALP EG weapons in February 2017. The UK segment of the contract, valued at GBP146 million (USD198 million), was approved in October 2016, and the French segment (value not disclosed) in December 2016.

France, UK approve Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon project for next phase

France and the UK have advanced their bilateral Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon (FC/ASW) programme to its next phase, with deliveries of two “game-changing” missile designs to begin before the end of this decade.
...This follows the conclusion of concept phase activities regarding successors for the MBDA manufacturer’s Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG and AM39 Exocet.

The next project phase “will assess two complementary missile concepts, expected to be fielded at the end of the decade,” MBDA says. It respectively describes these as being “subsonic low observable” and “supersonic, highly manoeuvrable” designs.

“These concepts will provide a game changing capability to overcome land-based and maritime threats, hardened targets and air defence systems, at very long ranges and in increasingly contested battlespace environments,” it adds.

France and the UK began joint concept study activities on the future precision-strike capability in 2017.
